Sorting in Pivot Tables

When your Excel 2010 worksheet becomes quite massive, using the Sort dialog box to sort on multiple columns can make it easier to find the data you need. The Sort dialog box can tell Excel what column to sort on next if two cells in the main sort column hold the same value or data.  If you have any questions, as always, feel free to email us at

Here is an example of a spread sheet that has been already set up.







1. We will start out by clicking on a numbers cell. After click on a numbers cell you will want to then click on the options tab located at the top of the page.







2. Next you will want to locate the sort and filter command.







3. Here you can sort from Z to A descending and your chart should adjust as you do so.
